Pennsylvania Democrats secured a historic trifecta in the recent midterm elections, reclaiming the House, Senate and the governor’s office for the first time since 1993.
Governor Josh Shapiro was re‑elected, defeating Republican candidate Stacy Garrity, while the panel of political insiders examined the implications for state legislation on issues such as marijuana legalization, transit funding, housing investment and abortion protections.
The discussion also considered how Shapiro’s victory may have boosted down‑ballot candidates, the national Democratic agenda on the economy, gas prices and foreign policy, and the outlook for the Republican Party and Senator John Fetterman, as well as whether the election restored confidence in polling accuracy.
