Cathal McOscar, a White Star Consultants managing director and local sports photographer, will depart on Friday, November 6, for his eighth Mellon Educate Building Blitz in South Africa.
He will travel with a suitcase of donated County Derry GAA jerseys and other sports kits to give to children and young adults in the communities where he volunteers, while joining other volunteers to construct and improve school classrooms.
McOscar emphasized that the experience is deeply meaningful, noting that the schools built will benefit children for many years and that every donation or share helps extend Derry’s support abroad.
