The Golden State Valkyries captured their first WNBA championship by defeating the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in Game 7 on Saturday night. It was the league’s decisive Game 7 played at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

Gabby Williams led the Valkyries with 30 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks, while Jordin Canada added 18 points and Allisha Gray contributed 16 for the Dream. Angel Reese recorded eight points and 12 rebounds for Atlanta.

Gray made two free throws with 11 seconds remaining, then a jump ball saw Veronica Burton convert two more free throws with 5.1 seconds left, sealing the win. Rhyne Howard had tied the game at 57 with a layup with 2:41 remaining, but Williams answered with a clutch three‑pointer and later converted two free throws.

The victory marks the Valkyries’ second season and provides the franchise its first title, echoing the Golden State Warriors’ 2022 championship and highlighting a milestone for women’s professional basketball. Fans chanted “Gabby! Gabby!” as the sold‑out crowd celebrated with confetti at the conclusion.
