Canelo Alvarez reclaimed the WBC super‑middleweight title Saturday night in Riyadh by unanimous decision over Christian Mbilli.
The judges recorded scores of 115‑112, 116‑111 and 117‑110, giving Alvarez a 64‑3‑2 record while Mbilli fell to 29‑1‑1, marking his first professional loss.
Alvarez had lost his undisputed championship to Terence Crawford in September 2025 and returned to the ring for the first time since that defeat to win the belt again.
Mbilli applied early pressure and forced Alvarez toward the ropes, but the Mexican boxer shifted to counterpunching and increased his work in the second half, especially after the sixth round.
Alvarez credited trainer Eddy Reynoso for his strategy, praised his team, and said he would rest before considering his next opponent.
In the co‑main event, Jaime Munguia survived a sixth‑round scare to retain his WBA super‑middleweight crown by unanimous decision over Nikita Zon, while Rafael Espinoza kept his WBO featherweight title via third‑round TKO of Ricardo Blandon.
