RoadSafe Saturday returns to Derry’s Guildhall Square on November 7 to put road safety in the spotlight and curb further tragedies.

Life After, a charity founded by people who have lost loved ones in crashes, will run a stall alongside Life Cycles, which will provide bike maintenance and safety advice, while car‑crash cut‑out displays will be overseen by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, St John Ambulance and the PSNI Traffic Branch; the Red Cross will show its emergency vehicle and Finan Opticians will offer free vision tests, and Mental Health Motorbike will be present, with Sandy Arthur Training Services bringing a George Best lorry.

Speakers at the launch stressed the human impact of collisions, noting that each crash affects families and that simple actions such as wearing helmets, using lights and considering e‑scooter purchases can save lives; they urged young people, families and drivers to attend the event and adopt safer habits during the winter months.

The event also includes a remembrance vigil on November 15 at Derry’s Walls, open to all, and aims to engage the community in ongoing road‑safety education and partnership work.
