Ryan Murphy, a 29‑year‑old from Mount Vernon in Derry, was fined at Derry Magistrate’s Court for disorderly behaviour.
The incident occurred on September 26 when police observed two men fighting in the street. Officers initially spoke to them, left, and then returned when the men resumed punching and kicking each other; the fight was not captured on CCTV, resulting in both arrests.
Defence solicitor Keith Kyle said Murphy has a limited record and that he and the other man knew each other.
